Play For The Cure is Back for 2024!
PLAY FOR THE CURE CHALLENGE
As many of you already know, undergoing Cancer treatment is a grueling marathon that tests a person’s limits physically, mentally, and spiritually. Adding to this already overwhelming experience are the significant logistical and financial challenges that many people and their families are now faced with.
The idea behind The Play for the Cure Initiative is a chance for all of us to help our friends and families as they work their way through their treatment. Funds raised will go towards the Beyond Barriers Patient Relief Fund at the BC Cancer Foundation.

Congratulations to our U15 T1 & T2 teams for their amazing efforts and coming home with Gold!
Blake Fediw is a member of the JDFMHA U15 Tier 1 team. In the past week Blake came down with a sudden illness which initially had him hospitalized here in Victoria and this past weekend was flown for treatment at BC Children's Hospital in Vancouver. It is believed to be an autoimmune issue effecting Blake's nervous system. The hospital has have him observation for two weeks to know for sure if it's Guillian Barre Syndrome (GBS).
Daryl & Jen, Blake's parents have been travelling back and forth between Victoria & Vancouver to ensure one of them is at Blake's side while he receives treatment. As you can imagine they are facing many expenses including travel, meals and missed work. We want to alleviate some of that pressure so they can focus on Blake and his recovery.
The Fediws are avid volunteers and supporters of minor hockey in the greater Victoria area both with JDF Grizzlies and the CRFMHA Reign. In this uncertain time, let's come together to help support this family. Any donations would be greatly appreciated.
JDF Eligible graduating players may apply for a VIAHA scholarship.
